10 featuresSprung floor
The competition floor: a big square of carpet laid over springs. It gives back on every take-off and softens every landing.
Sprung floor tricks →Tumble track
A long, raised, springy runway for tumbling in a straight line, bouncier than the floor.
Tumble track tricks →Vault
A sprint down a runway, a springboard, then hands on the vaulting table and over.
Vault tricks →Bars
Asymmetric bars in women's gymnastics; parallel bars and a high bar in men's. Swings, circles and releases.
Bars tricks →Rings
Two rings hung from straps, part of men's gymnastics: swings and strength holds.
Rings tricks →Pommel horse
A padded horse with two handles, part of men's gymnastics: circles and swings on your hands.
Pommel horse tricks →Beam
A narrow beam to balance, turn and leap on. Clubs keep low ones to learn on and full-height ones to compete on.
Beam tricks →Trampoline
A full-size trampoline, often sunk level with the floor, or the small angled trampette you run at. Where a rotation gets learned before it goes anywhere harder.
Foam pit
A pit of foam blocks to land in. Where a trick gets tried before it gets landed.
Drop-in sessions
Open or casual sessions you can book or turn up to without joining a class. Who they are for and when they run is up to the venue, so check before you go.
Spots are kept up by members. Gates get locked, places close, surfaces and times change.
