Someone who knows the trick, ready to catch you.
The lowdown
A full forward turn in the air in a tight tuck, taking off from the bed and landing back on your feet.
The international code values it at 0.5: 0.1 for each quarter of the rotation and 0.1 more for finishing the somersault.
Tips
Lift your arms and chest as you take off, then snap into the tuck fast. Open out before you land so your feet are under you.
Why it isn't working4 common mistakes
Not enough height on take-off. Jump up rather than forward, and lift your arms and chest to give yourself time to turn.
Tucking too slowly. Change from stretch to tuck fast, pulling your knees right into your chest.
Opening out too late. Let go and stretch out before landing, or you keep turning and fall forward.
Leaning forward as you take off. Take off upright; leaning makes the somersault low and long.

Where it sits
Why it's Gold: Gold because it is the first full somersault. The bed gives you the height, but it is still a complete rotation with a blind landing.
