Air Out of a Quarter
Sign in to mark this one off. Every trick you land is kept, and only you can see it.
Watch it
The lowdown
Ride up a quarter pipe, leave the coping with both wheels and come back down into the transition. Land on the deck instead and it is a flyout.
This is the gate to park riding. Spins, whips, no-handers and flips all begin with getting out of the ramp under control.
Tips
Build up an inch at a time. Pull up as you leave the lip and point the front wheel back down the ramp before you land.
Why it isn't working4 common mistakes
Pulling up too early. Let the front wheel and then the back wheel roll off the coping before you lift.
Landing with the front wheel high. Push the bars down as you turn so the front wheel meets the transition first.
Picking a mellow ramp to learn on. A steeper quarter gives you height for less speed and lands you further up the curve.
Clearing the coping on the first go. Start with small hops below the coping and raise them an inch at a time.

Where to practise
Park tricks want bowls and quarter pipes. find spots with a bowl near you →
Where it sits
Why it's Easy: Pump gives you the speed and drop in gives you the ramp. Airing adds a moment when neither wheel is on anything, and a hung-up front wheel stops the bike dead.
