Pump a Ramp
Sign in to mark this one off. Every trick you land is kept, and only you can see it.
The lowdown
Not a trick, a skill. You push down through the bottom of a transition and lift as you rise, and the ramp gives you speed back. No pedalling needed.
Tips
Think of a swing. Lean back going up, lean forward coming down, and let your legs do the pushing.
Why it isn't working4 common mistakes
Pedalling through the transition. Stop pedalling before the ramp and let your legs push the bike down the curve instead.
Standing stiff with locked knees. Bend your knees and elbows so there is something to push with at the bottom.
Pushing at the wrong moment. Push down as the wheels roll into the curve and lighten up as you rise out of it.
Leaning away from the ramp. Keep your chest over the bars going up so the front wheel stays planted.

Where it sits
Why it's Rookie: It is the first thing you learn on a ramp and nothing has to leave the ground. The only skill is timing a push, which is why it sits at Rookie.
