The lowdown
Tips
Let go later than feels right and grab back early. Keep the other hand firmly in the middle of the grip.
Why it isn't working4 common mistakes
Letting go too early. Release just before the top of the air so the hand has the shortest trip back.
Taking the hand a long way out. Open the hand on the grip first, then an inch or two away, and build from there.
Steering with the hand that stays on. Keep the remaining hand firm and central so the bars do not turn while you let go.
Only ever using one side. Learn it with both hands; most tricks above it will want the other one free.

Why it's Spicy: It is the first time your grip leaves the bike. Nothing else changes from an air, which is why it is Spicy rather than Gnarly, but the bars can turn the moment a hand goes.
