The lowdown
From a bridge, kick one leg up and over, pass through a split handstand and land in a lunge. It is the second half of a back walkover.
A bridge kickover is a back walkover with a pause in the bridge, and it is required in USA Gymnastics' Level 2 floor routine.
Tips
Push your chest and shoulders over your hands before you kick. Keep the kicking leg straight and let it carry you over into the lunge.
Why it isn't working3 common mistakes
Shoulders dropping back as you kick. Push your chest forward over your hands before the legs come over.
Bending the kicking leg. Kick with a straight leg and pointed toe.
Collapsing onto the landing. Push through your shoulders and step down into a lunge.

Where it sits
Why it's Gold: It needs a good bridge with open shoulders and a wide split. Gymnasts with little front split cannot kick over from the floor.
