The lowdown

Sit back, jump backwards onto your hands through a tight arched handstand and snap your feet down to land. British clubs call it a flick or flic-flac.

Fun fact

You cannot see where your hands will land until after you have started, which is why it is learned with a spot.

Tips

Bend your legs, lean back as if into a chair and push hard off the floor with your legs. Keep your eyes on your hands, then snap through your core with legs together.

Why it isn't working3 common mistakes

  1. Sitting without travelling back. Lean back and push hard through your legs to reach your hands.

  2. Bending your arms on contact. Push the floor away through straight arms and strong shoulders.

  3. Landing low from a slow snap. Snap your legs down fast with your core tight.

Why it's Platinum: It is the first backward move with flight, and you jump blind. It needs strong legs, a strong shoulder push and a coach spotting.
