Watch it
The lowdown
Ride along a wall with all four wheels on the vertical surface, then come back down to the ground and roll away.
Speed is what keeps you on. Slowing down at the last second is the single most common way it goes wrong.
Tips
Start on a slanted wall or a bank into a wall, and come in at an angle with speed. Keep the board flat against it.
Why it isn't working4 common mistakes
Front foot doing the work. Push up the wall with the back foot; it carries most of the ride.
Nose above the tail coming off. Keep the front truck lower than the back as you drop back to the ground.
Leaning away from the wall. Drive your weight up the wall for as long as the speed lasts.
Tail not touching down first. Let the tail scrape the ground just before the wheels meet the wall.
What you need
Where to practise
Street tricks want ledges and rails. find spots with ledges near you →
Where it sits
Why it's Gnarly: Gnarly because the board is on its side on a vertical surface with only speed holding it there. The ollie gets you up and the kick turn brings you off; the wall is new ground.
