Watch it
The lowdown
Ride up the transition, put the middle of the board over the coping, then rock back and roll down fakie.
Rock to fakie is where most skaters first learn to trust riding backwards.
Why it isn't working4 common mistakes
Rolling up too slowly. Carry enough speed that the front truck clears the coping on its own.
Panicking as you roll away backwards. Rolling fakie is the trick; practise it on flat and low on the ramp first.
Looking at your feet on the way down. Look back down the ramp so your shoulders stay over the board rolling fakie.
Rocking with the board pointing sideways. Go straight up the ramp so the board rocks square over the coping.

Where it sits
Why it's Easy: The drop-in taught you to commit forwards; this is the first trick that sends you down backwards. The hang-up is real: lift the nose late and the front truck catches the coping.
