The lowdown

Rolling along on the back two wheels with the nose held up. Balance, not pop.

Fun fact

Manual pads exist in nearly every park because a manual is the glue between two other tricks in a line.

Tips

Find the tipping point and hold it with your ankles. Look where you're going, not at the board.

Why it isn't working4 common mistakes

  1. Yanking the nose up. Press the tail gently and let the nose rise; a yank sends you past the balance point.

  2. Feet too far apart. Bring them in a little so small ankle moves can steer the balance.

  3. Fighting every wobble. Make one small correction and wait; chasing wobbles makes them bigger.

  4. Going too slowly. Roll at a steady walking pace; a crawling board wobbles far more.

Why it's Easy: Easy because nothing pops and you can drop the nose at any moment. It is more than Rookie because the balance point is narrow, and the ankles have to find it while rolling.
