The lowdown

Hop onto a low ledge sideways so the underside of the deck slides along the edge while you stay facing forwards.

Fun fact

Scooter riders took the name and the trick from skateboarding, where the deck really is the board.

Tips

A waxed ledge, low enough to step off. Land with the deck square across the edge, never at an angle.

Why it isn't working4 common mistakes

Landing at an angle. Turn the deck a full quarter so it sits square across the edge.
Looking down at the deck. Look ahead along the ledge to where you drop off.
Feet too close together. Front foot near the headtube, back foot at the tail, so the deck stays level.
Trying a tall ledge first. Pick one low enough to step off.
