The lowdown

Ride slowly at a low ledge, hop both pegs onto the edge and balance there instead of sliding along it. Pegs have to be fitted for this one.

Fun fact

Stalling before you grind is how riders learn where the pegs actually sit, and it costs a lot less skin.

Tips

Come in slow and square. Land both pegs together. One first is what tips you off the side.

Why it isn't working4 common mistakes

  1. Trying it without pegs fitted. You need a front and back peg on the same side; the tyres do not stall.

  2. Coming in fast. Approach slow and square; you are stopping on the ledge, not sliding along it.

  3. Bike tilted as the pegs land. Keep the bike level in the air so both pegs meet the edge at once.

  4. Body hanging out over the ground. Keep your body directly over the edge; lean out and the pegs unhook.

Why it's Easy: The hop is the whole entry, and stopping asks less of you than sliding. What is new is trusting two pegs to hold you on an edge, so it sits just above the hop.
