Straight Jump Off the Beam
Sign in to mark this one off. Every trick you land is kept, and only you can see it.
The lowdown
Jumping off the beam in a straight, stretched shape and landing safely on your feet on the mat. It is the simplest way to finish on the beam.
At Xcel Bronze, the first US Xcel level, a beam dismount may not be a somersault or an aerial; a jump off is the example given.
Tips
Land with bent knees, chest up, head forward and arms out, then hold it still for three to five seconds.
Why it isn't working3 common mistakes
Landing with straight legs. Bend your knees as your feet touch the mat, with your chest up.
Looking down at the mat. Keep your head forward and your arms out as you land.
Stepping straight after landing. Hold the landing still for three to five seconds before you move.

Where it sits
Why it's Bronze: Nothing comes before it and you start from standing still. The only thing to learn is a controlled landing, first from a low beam, then a high one.
